Driven by their shared mission of making measurable impacts in diseases they feel passionately about, Carol Capece and Steve Robins launched SPARK Healthcare Consultants in the fall of 2008. Since its inception, SPARK has designed and delivered results-driven, innovative solutions in a variety of categories, including but not limited to cystic fibrosis, type 1 diabetes, juvenile arthritis, hemophilia, bronchiectasis and multiple sclerosis. SPARK operates at the intersection of industry, patient advocacy and the healthcare professional community to develop public health programs that simultaneously address unmet areas of need as well as ROI through improved treatment adherence.  

The SPARK Process is unique in that prolific, passionate clinician stakeholders are engaged at the outset of every project. They work hand-in-hand with SPARK to develop evidence-based materials and approaches they will eventually use in their own practices, recommend to peers and advocate for once the programs are launched on a national level. The engagement teams are rounded out with people living with chronic disease and members of leading advocacy organizations to ensure that the relevant audiences are involved in the decision-making process. And it’s obviously working. Solutions delivered by SPARK have won numerous accolades and awards, and program materials have been studied, tested and clinically-validated. SPARK programs have been the focus of a broad range of quality improvement (QI) initiatives, peer-reviewed publications, clinical posters and even a book from Harvard University Press!
